Course level: Undergraduate Course description: An advanced undergraduate course, which builds upon fundamental concepts in radiation physics. A study of the interaction of charged particles with matter. Attenuation and absorption of radiant energy and its application to shielding and dosimetry. The concept of build-up will be explored and the use of buildup factors for point, surface, line, and volume sources of electromagnetic radiation and neutrons will be studied. Shielding of other forms of E-M radiation will be considered.
